It is a recounting which reaches tangentially back to 1752 with the birth of my earliest documented ancestor, and projects into the future to the year 2053 with a chatty, newsy, mythical letter to a great-great granddaughter whose name I will never knowthus my story wraps around my family for three hundred years. This memoir is my effort at graspingat knowing, if it can be known, why it was as it was.
